The Breeders Guide mission, both in print and on line, is to promote breeding stallions to owners of active broodmares and support the breeding industry. When we launched our Web site in 1997 the Guide became one of the first equine publications to present its pages to the “connected world.”
Now, many years and hundreds of thousands of visitors later, we are using leading edge technology to launch our new and exciting, state-of-the-art site that includes breeding information plus stallion videos and interactive profile pages. The new site will stay new with major updates the first and third Mondays of each month. If you would like to be notified when the site is updated, please forward this form to us.
Breeders Guide on the Web includes all the stallions and profile pages presented in print during the current year for all the breeds. Also included are web stallion pages. The Archives or our “encore” section will contain all the features presented in previous editions of the site.
Frank & Judy Gassmann, then of Madison, IN and now of Pendleton, KY, started Breeders Guide Publishing in 1989 with the Morgan Breeders Guide followed by the American Saddlebred Breeders Guide (sales manager, Jane Tyler Koller) in 1990 and the Walking Horse (sales manager, Steve Wirts) in 1991. The Arabian and Sport Horse Breeders Guides were published in the mid-1990s. Along the way Hackneys and Dutch Harness Horses were added to the Saddlebred Guide, and for 2006 Spotted Saddle Horses have joined the Walking Horse Guide. The popular Trainers directory, first published in 2003, is now available on the Web site.
